About The Role

We, at GEMS American Academy Qatar, are looking for Lower Elementary Teachers (Grades 1-3) to join our team for the start of the 2022 academic year. GEMS teachers enjoy an outstanding school environment in which to deliver a dynamic and creative curriculum to motivated students.

The Elementary School curriculum at AAQ fosters the concept that learning is enjoyable and rewarding. A continuous progress approach is used in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies allows students to develop at their own rate within a framework of high expectations. In addition to the core subjects, students have classes in physical education, music, art, Arabic language for native and non-native speakers, Islamic studies for Muslims, library and information technology.

The successful applicant will have the following:
A certified teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE or BEd or equivalent
At least 2 years of solid and demonstrable experience teaching Lower Elementary students within an American curriculum school
The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning
Aspiration to work in a world class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
